After recently purchasing the new Dolcie May Booker cookbook I had to visit the store in Mt Eden, Auckland.  Luckily or not so lucky for my waistline, it is just around the corner from my work, how had I not discovered it yet after a year?!

To my delight I got a park right outside the store and shimmered right in.

A whiff of deliciousness swept over me when I walked in the door, the smell of fresh-baked lasagna and bacon and egg pie increased my appetite.

 

You are really spoilt for choice here, I ended up purchasing the yummiest vegetable Quiche I have tasted EVER and a passionfruit and coconut muffin!

I took a bite of it in the car driving back to work, I just couldn’t resist

1. I work full-time for a non-profit charity based in Auckland, New Zealand
2. I just got engaged to my long-term boyfriend (now fiancée), we have been together for 10 years now.  He proposed on our 10th year anniversary with our dog at the local beach – he is very romantic
3. Writing, reading and blogging are my passions
4. Travelling is on the cards in the future – anywhere and everywhere.  Would love to go back to New York and Philly
5. My fiancée has a 10-year-old Doberman, he is our dog baby hehe
6. Everything is possible you just have to put your mind to it
7. Wedding planning is fun but it can get stressful if you make it.  Just have fun.

Long weekend

I am sure everybody had a nice long weekend, thanks to Queenie for being in reign for 60 years, we got a long weekend.

Art is not self-centered

One of the most damning beliefs perpetrated by our culture is the idea that our art is a self-indulgent pursuit. Our gifts come from a divine source, and using our gifts moves us toward our divinity. This is not selfish. It is our poisonous playmates who try to convince us that art is a self-centered pursuit.

What they are really saying is “focus on me, not your art.”

Now that is self-centered.
